    Azamat Asangul

    Azamat was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. He started his studies at age 10. In 2007, Azamat was awarded a Presidential Scholar “Personnel 21st Century” for “Creative achievement in the Performing Skills”. Later he was invited by Altynai Asylmuratova to study in Saint Petersburg, Russia and graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in 2010. He then joined Moscow City Ballet under the direction of artistic director Victor Smirnov. In 2012, Azamat was selected by Julia Moon to join Universal Ballet in South Korea. He also continued to dance with the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2013, Azamat was invited to join The Russian National Ballet by Artistic Director Sergei Radchenko. He has toured with The Moscow City Ballet in the United Kingdom, Ireland, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Taiwan, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Cyprus, Russia and with The Russian National Ballet in the USA. In 2014, Azamat joined Newport Contemporary Ballet in Newport, Rhode Island to focus on his contemporary style. Azamat has appeared as a guest artist with Charleston City Ballet, Ballet Idaho and the Flint Institute of Music. He danced with Ballet RI from 2017 to 2023. This is Azamat’s third season with the Asian American Ballet Project.

    Zhanat Baidaralin

    Zhanat Baidaralin was born in Kazakhstan. After graduating from the State Ballet School, he worked in a ballet company, then he enrolled in the Moscow University of the Theatrical Arts, and received a diploma as a choreographer and ballet teacher. After graduating he worked in Kazakhstan where he created numerous ballets and outdoor productions, including the Opening Ceremony of Olympic Games in Moscow. In 2001 he was invited to take part in ADF at Duke University in NC. He immigrated to the USA 2001. In America he worked for ballet organizations in MA, CT, RI, and NY including Festival Ballet of RI and Dance Theater of Harlem. He opened his own ballet studio, Ballet Prestige, and created The Nutcracker among many other pieces.

    Alexa Capareda

    Alexa Capareda is a sugar-powered dancemaking noodle robot who engages in virtuosity, versatility, and the earnest and playful. She trained in her native Philippines, Austin, and Montreal before joining Balet Bratislava in Slovakia. Her choreography has been commissioned by SALT Dance, Ballet Austin, tbd. dance collective, Houston Contemporary, Columbia Repertory Ballet, and ZACH Theatre. She has presented work at Big Medium, Austin Dance Festival, Barnstorm Dance Festival, and Fusebox Festival. She is Rehearsal Director of Ballet Austin TWO, Assistant Director with Performa/Dance, and has made work with BLiPSWiTCH, Frank Wo/Men, Salvage Vanguard Theater, ARCOS, Magdalena Jarkowiec, Jennifer Sherburn, Austin Camerata, and LOLA Austin. She has collaborated with sound artists Steve Parker, Brent Baldwin, VAMP, and Henna Chou, and visual artists Essentials Creative, Tom Suhler, and Susan Scafati. She was a prizewinner at the 2013 Festival of Choreographic Miniatures in Serbia and recipient of the 2017 Austin Critics Table Award for Excellence as Dancer. She has a BA English, minor in Theater and Dance from UT-Austin.

    Destiny Kluck

    Destiny Kluck is a passionate dancer, choreographer, and artist from Kennesaw, Georgia. From the age of 2, she found her talents in movement and musicality. She received training from the International City School of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Steps On Broadway, and many workshops ranging from the New York City Dance Alliance and the Dance Awards. In high school, she attended the pre-professional ballet company at the International City School of Ballet gaining experience from performing with companies such as The Moscow Ballet and Atlanta Ballet. Her passion for dance translates to her talent in academic sciences, and she decided to pursue a B.S., B.A. at Brandeis University in Biology and Health: Science Society and Policy. Her style of dance reflect a fusion in her dance training from ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and tap. She is a member of Urbanity’s Creative Class, developing her skills in modern/contemporary. She believes anyone and everyone can express themselves in movement thus shares her joy for dancing on her youtube channel @dkimprov7517. She continues sharing her talents with her community as a lead member of the dance clubs at Brandeis and a dance instructor in Waltham at Center Stage Dance Studio.
