Amane Takaishi
A native of Tokyo, Japan, Amane Takaishi is among the founding company members of Asian American Ballet Project. In the company’s inaugural performance, she was featured as the Candied Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty and has since performed in numerous productions and outreach programs highlighting works by Asian American choreographers. Amane also dances with City Ballet of Boston, where her featured roles include the Snow Queen in the Urban Nutcracker. Prior to joining CBB, she performed with Eugene Ballet, Ballet Tucson, and A&A Ballet. She began her ballet training in her hometown with Mitsuyo Kishibe and continued her study in UK: Central School of Ballet Elmhurst Ballet School in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet. Besides dancing, she teaches ballet at Boston College and Pilates at Boston University. Furthermore, Amane teaches and choreographs for young dancers at Tony Williams Dance Center. She holds BA with honors in Professional Dance and Performance from the University of Kent, UK, and MA in Education (Dance Teaching) from the University of Bath, UK.
