About the Registry

The Asian American Ballet Project (AABP) is seeking Asian American composers and performing musical artists to join our newly established Musical Collaborator Registry, created in conjunction with our 2027 Choreographer Residency Program.

AABP’s Choreographer Residency Program is designed to foster collaboration among Asian American artists and create new ballets that reflect Asian American perspectives and experiences. In 2027, four choreographers in residence will each select a musical collaborator from the registry to develop music for their new ballets.

Musical collaborators may work with choreographers to create an original score or select and perform existing music for a new ballet. Projects may involve recorded or live music, depending on the needs of the choreographer and collaborator.
